GolfNet Inc was
incorporated in 1983 (originally as Sumner Incorporated) in Bethesda, Maryland,
and has provided golf handicap and tournament management systems
and services since 1986, when it was awarded a contract to service
the Middle Atlantic Handicap Program. Sponsored by the Maryland
and Virginia State Golf Associations and the Middle Atlantic PGA,
this program provided service to 53,500 golfers at 180 clubs.
Now based in Pinehurst, North Carolina, GolfNet has grown dramatically
and currently ranks as the second largest handicap and tournament
management software provider in the country. Golfnet provides service
to over 700,000 golfers at 1,700 clubs and is the exclusive vendor
for 8 state or regional Golf Associations.
Over the years, GolfNet's software has continually been enhanced
with new features and the product lines expanded to include the
First Tee Management System and GolfNet On-Line Web Services. Golfnet's
goal is to provide the best products and service available on the
market today.
In addition to the corporate headquarters in Pinehurst, GolfNet
maintains three offices in Florida, one in Maryland, and one in
Pennsylvania.
